There was an upset when higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (17-15) was outscored at home by fifteenth ranked Lorient (14-18) 101-81 on Friday. The game without a history. Lorient led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Lourdes-Tarbes' 40 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lorient looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward RJ Sims (196, college: E.Mennonite) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) added 17 points and 7 assists in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Four Lorient and five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lorient moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with SAP Vaucluse. Lourdes-Tarbes lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Lorient will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round where they are favorite.
