Second Stage Round 10: BC Mess - Racing 45-71
Date: April 8, 2017
Rather expected game when 4th ranked BC Mess (12-15) was smashed by first ranked Racing (25-2) in Mondercange 71-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Racing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Mess to just 5 points in third quarter. Racing dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BC Mess' 20. They outrebounded BC Mess 34-17 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Elijah Bonsignore (198, college: S.New Hampshire) replied with 15 points and Uruguayan forward Facundo Alonso (195) added 10 points in the effort for BC Mess. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Racing maintains first position in League with 25-2 record. BC Mess at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 15 games lost. Racing will face Bascharage (#4) in Kaerjeng in the next round. BC Mess will play on the road against the league's second-placed Residence in Bereldange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
