Regular Season Round 2: Quebradillas - Isabela 106-97

The game with biggest result difference took place in Quebradillas. Local Piratas (2-0) beat Caciques (0-2) 106-97. It looked good early as Caciques took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Piratas had a 29-16 second period charge getting the lead and Caciques were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 97-106. Piratas made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) notched 24 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Luis Hernandez (198-88) supported him with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 28 points and 6 assists by American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) did not help to save the game for Caciques. American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Five Piratas and four Caciques players scored in double figures. Caciques' coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Piratas' next round opponent will be Capitanes in Arecibo and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caciques will play at home against Leones (#5) and hope to win that game.
