Regular Season Round 3: San German - Aguada 70-77

Date: April 10, 2017
Santeros (3-0) added another victory to their record on Monday. This time they beat Atleticos (1-2) in San German 77-70. Atleticos trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-77 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Atleticos 42-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a quality performance for Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. International Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. The former international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 8 points and 10 assists and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Atleticos in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Santeros will meet at home Brujos (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atleticos will play against Vaqueros (#7) in Bayamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
