Regular Season Round 3: Bayamon - Fajardo 77-70

Very important is a road loss of Fajardo (2-1) against Vaqueros (1-2) on Tuesday night. Visiting Fajardo was defeated by Vaqueros in a tough game in Bayamon 70-77. The game without a history. Vaqueros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for forward Johwen Villegas (193-85, college: FIU) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and international point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) scored 19 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaqueros will play against Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Fajardo will play on the road against Leones in Juana Diaz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
