An interesting game for Lukoil Acad. (20-4) which hosted in Sofia 4th ranked Rilski (13-10). First ranked Lukoil Acad. had an easy win 108-76. Lukoil Acad. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski's 44. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American-Cameroonian point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (197-90) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Lukoil Acad. and four Rilski players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lukoil Acad. have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-4 record. Rilski at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Balkan. Lukoil Acad. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski will play on the road against the league's second-placed Academik Plovdiv (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
