Singapore Slingers claimed the opening victory in ASEAN League Finals. They fired past Hong Kong ELL on the road in the opener. Singapore Slingers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Singapore Slingers outrebounded Hong Kong ELL 56-35 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Justin Howard (209-81, college: Mercer) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 28 rebounds. Guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Hong Kong ELL.
