Regular Season Round 29: Rimini - Pescara 76-68

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Rimini (13-14) beat at home 4th placed Pescara (19-10) 76-68 on Saturday. Pescara was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Francesco Foiera (207-75, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Leonardo Battistini (194-95) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Rimini's coach Andrea Maghelli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Jacopo Valentini (193-86) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stefano Rajola (186-72) added 11 points in the effort for Pescara. Rimini maintains ninth place in B with 13-14 record. Loser Pescara dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Rimini will face Giulianova (#12) on the road in the next round. Pescara will play against Campli (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
