Date: April 15, 2017
Tartu Ulikool upset TLU/Kalev in the capital for the second straight win. It looked good early as TLU/Kalev took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tartu Ulikool took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 26 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TLU/Kalev's 30. They outrebounded TLU/Kalev 48-28 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tartu Ulikool players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by TLU/Kalev's players. Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Janar Talts (206-83) supported him with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 15 points by the former international point guard Kristo Saage (186-85) did not help to save the game for TLU/Kalev. Serbian center Djordje Dzeletovic (205-93, agency: AproK Sports Group) added 11 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
