Kosice held off visiting Rieker Komarno to gain 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 18-8. But Rieker KN won third quarter 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kosice made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Michal Batka (204-87) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) responded with 11 points and 6 assists and the former international forward Andrej Kuffa (203-90) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
