Finals Game 1: HyPo - Espoo Utd 81-85

Espoo Utd upset HyPo on the road in Finals opener. HyPo was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 28-19 charge of Espoo Utd, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Strangely HyPo outrebounded Espoo Utd 43-26 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. International forward Dionne Pounds (175-84, college: Lamar) fired 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tabatha Richardson-Smith (183, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) added 14 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Espoo Utd and four HyPo players scored in double figures. HyPo's coach Miikka Sopanen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
