Very predictable result when first ranked Shimane Magic (44-10) outscored at home 6th ranked Kagoshima (7-47) 96-72 on Sunday. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 40. They outrebounded Kagoshima 44-18 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). The other American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Canadian forward Bikramjit Gill (201-92, college: Ball St.) produced 25 points and guard Hiroshi Fujita (190-92) added 9 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic maintains first position with 44-10 record. Kagoshima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 47 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Kagoshima will play at home against Kumamoto V. and hope to win that game.
