Familia Schio outgunned Ragusa in the opening clash. The game was mostly controlled by Familia Schio. Ragusa was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ragusa 38-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86) nailed 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winning side and American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Familia Schio players scored in double figures. Familia Schio's coach Mauro Procaccini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International guard Maddalena Gorini (182-92) came up with 14 points and Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour (198-94, agency: ProDep Management) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ragusa in the defeat.
