Regular Season Round 6: Fajardo - Guayama 68-71

A very interesting game took place in Fajardo. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Fajardo (3-3) to tenth ranked Brujos (2-5) 71-68 on Tuesday evening. Fajardo cut a 20-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists and American forward Damion James (201-87, college: Texas) added 16 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Fajardo's coach Allans Colon rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brujos moved-up to ninth place. Fajardo at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Brujos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Capitanes (#4) in Arecibo and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fajardo will play at home against Leones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
