Third-ranked Arantia (8-22) gave a tough game to fourth ranked BC Mess (13-16) in Mondercange on Friday. BC Mess managed to secure only one-point victory 69-68. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Elijah Bonsignore (198, college: S.New Hampshire) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Uruguayan forward Facundo Alonso (195) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Duke Mondy (193-90, college: Oakland) who recorded 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Ladarius Tabb (196, college: Alabama A&M) added 13 points respectively. Newly promoted BC Mess maintains fourth position with 13-16 record. Loser Arantia keeps the third place with 22 games lost. BC Mess will meet at home league's leader Basket Esch in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Arantia will play against the league's leader Racing in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
