Second Stage Round 8: Rabotnicki - MZT Skopje 78-70

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated MZT Skopje (7-1) on the court of third ranked Rabotnicki on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Rabotnicki 78-70. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of MZT Skopje. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MZT Skopje won third quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rabotnicki looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by MZT Skopje's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Vlado Ilievski (188-80, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 assists and the former international forward Dime Tasovski (200-80) who added 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points and Croatian center Jure Lalic (211-86) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rabotnicki maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Strumica. Defending champion MZT Skopje still keeps top place with one game lost. Rabotnicki are looking forward to face Kozuv (#5) in Gevgelija in the next round. MZT Skopje's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Karpos Sokoli.
