Leiden upset Zwolle in the semifinal series opener. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-17. But Zwolle won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leiden made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Zwolle helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Thomas Koenis (210-89, agency: Court Side) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. The former international Rogier Jansen (188-84, agency: Court Side) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. American center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St., agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard JT Tiller (188-88, college: Missouri) added 19 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Five Leiden and four Zwolle players scored in double figures.
