Second Stage Round 8: Atomeromu - Vasas 70-59

Rather expected game when 13th ranked Vasas (6-25) lost to eleventh ranked Atomeromu (13-18) in Paks 59-70 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. Vasas managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atomeromu looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Lawrence Gilbert (200-86, college: La-Monroe, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored that evening 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St., agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Five Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by American forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Vasas. The former international swingman Akos Horvath (194-81, agency: HMS) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atomeromu maintains eleventh position with 13-18 record. Newly promoted Vasas keep the thirteenth place with 25 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
