Top ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (16-2) recorded its second loss at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (5-13) 82-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. Caballeros de Culiacan dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rayos de Hermosillo's 28. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Caballeros de Culiacan and five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains ninth place with 5-13 record. Rayos de Hermosillo at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan are looking forward to face higher ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
