Regular Season Round 11: Arecibo - Guayama 66-74

We should mention about the upset which took place in Arecibo, where higher ranked Capitanes (4-6) lost at home to tenth ranked Brujos (3-8) 66-74 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for naturalized American guard Darnell Hinson (185-80, college: Northeastern St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) helped adding 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. The former international swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) scored 16 points. Capitanes' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brujos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with San German. Capitanes lost their fourth game in a row. Defending champion keep the sixth position with six games lost. Brujos will meet at home league's second-placed Caciques in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitanes will play against the league's second-placed Caciques (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
