Finals Game 5: KR - Grindavik 95-56

KR cruised past Grindavik to celebrate Dominos League title. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Grindavik managed to win third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Grindavik's 32. They outrebounded Grindavik 58-39 including a 43-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Grindavik's players. The former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Jon Stefansson (192-82) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international swingman Thorleifur Olafsson (192-84) responded with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Dagur Jonsson (185-95, college: St.Francis, NY) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
