The game in Bayamon was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Fajardo (6-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Vaqueros (3-8). Fajardo defeated Vaqueros 83-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Fajardo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by American forward Damion James (201-87, college: Texas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and international point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 18 points and 11 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by American power forward Alex Oriakhi (208-90, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Vaqueros. International swingman Alex Franklin (198-88, college: Siena) added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fajardo maintains fifth position with 6-5 record. Loser Vaqueros dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with San German and Guayama. Fajardo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vaqueros will play against the league's second-placed Caciques (#2) and hope to secure a win.
