There was a minor upset in Werribee where 3rd placed Eltham Wildcats (5-2) were defeated by fifth ranked Devils (5-2) 76-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 20-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Fred Hunter (196-89, college: Nicholls St.) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Jonathan Sonda chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Devils players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Simon Grant (195-91) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and center Simon Bradbury (215-89) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Devils moved-up to third place in League. Devils will face Casey C. (#7) in the next round. Eltham Wildcats will play against the league's leader Knox Raiders and hope to win that game.
