Regular Season Round 14: Quebradillas - Arecibo 85-87

The most exciting game of round 14 in the BSN took place in Quebradillas. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Piratas (6-4) to sixth ranked Capitanes (6-7) 87-85 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Capitanes made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Capitanes had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Piratas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: Massachusetts) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward Chane Behanan (198-92, college: Louisville) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83, agency: Basket Management Solutions) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 6-7 record. Piratas at the other side keep the fifth place with four games lost. Capitanes are looking forward to face Vaqueros (#9) in Bayamon in the next round. Piratas will play at home against the league's leader Santeros (#1) and are hoping to win this game.
