Puerto Rico
Regular Season Round 14: Isabela - Quebradillas 102-95
Date: May 4, 2017
There was no surprise in Humacao where 5th ranked Piratas (6-4) were defeated by third ranked Caciques (8-5) 102-95. Caciques forced 20 Piratas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) supported him with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Five Caciques players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) did not help to save the game for Piratas. The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) added 22 points for the guests. Piratas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caciques moved-up to second place. Piratas at the other side keep the fifth position with four games lost. Caciques' next round opponent will be Fajardo (#3), which may be the game of the day. Piratas will play against the league's leader Santeros and hope to win that game.
