Vitoria outscored Mogi das Cruzes to ensure the next round birth. Universo/Vitoria made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Mogi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Keyron Sheard (188-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 assists for the winners and the former international Arthur Silva (196-82) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) responded with 35 points (!!!) and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) scored 18 points and 9 assists. Mogi's coach Jorge Guerra rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
