Regular Season Round 15: Quebradillas - Aguada 65-61

Date: May 6, 2017
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Santeros (12-2) in Quebradillas on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Piratas (7-4) 65-61. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Santeros. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-61. It was a good game for the former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83, agency: Basket Management Solutions) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Alex Abreu (180-91, college: W.Georgia) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Santeros. Santeros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total thirteen players in this game, but that didn't help. Piratas moved-up to fourth place. Santeros at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Piratas are looking forward to face Atleticos (#10) in San German in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Santeros will play at home against Capitanes (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
