The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Cougars' (5-6) home loss to fourth ranked Tigers (8-2) 118-120 on Saturday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Cougars' 62. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) fired a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 24 rebounds for the winners. Guard Damien Scott (190-92) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jalen Billups (198-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) added 32 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Five Tigers and four Cougars players scored in double figures. Tigers keep a position of League leader. Loser Cougars dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Tigers will face Giants (#11) in Kalgoorlie in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against Slammers (#9) in Bunbury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
