There was a minor upset in Ishikawa where Tokyo Cinq R. (4-6) was crushed by Kanazawa Sam. (8-2) 88-64 on Saturday. Kanazawa Sam. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 42. Kanazawa Sam. had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) chipped in 21 points. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. Guard Rintaro Takeda (175-91) produced 15 points and American forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas, agency: Haylett Sports) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Kanazawa Sam. went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Tokyo Cinq R. dropped to the fifth place with six games lost.
