Semi-Finals Game 1: Homenetmen - Moutahed 95-74

Homenetmen outgunned Moutahed to take 1-0 lead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Homenetmen. Al Moutahed managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Homenetmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international swingman Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) fired 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Iraqi point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Homenetmen's coach Joe Nebhan felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: De Paul) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Dewarick Spencer (192-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
