Another exciting game was played in Bayamon between seventh ranked Vaqueros and 4th placed Caciques where host Vaqueros (7-9) won against Caciques (8-8) with 16-point difference 92-76. The game was mostly controlled by Vaqueros. Caciques was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vaqueros shot 61.0 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Johwen Villegas (193-85, college: FIU) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. International Alexander Galindo (200-85, college: FIU) answered with 20 points and American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Caciques. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vaqueros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 7-9 record. Caciques lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Arecibo. Vaqueros will play against higher ranked Leones (#6) in Juana Diaz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caciques will have a break next round.
