We should mention about the upset which took place in Juana Diaz, where higher ranked Leones (7-8) were outleveled at home by tenth ranked Brujos (5-10) 111-70. Brujos had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Brujos players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Leones' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized American guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: Cent.Conn.St.) accounted for 24 points and 9 assists. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Dominican Victor Liz (188-86, agency: Basket Management Solutions) came up with 16 points and the former international forward Carlos Emory (196-91) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Leones in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brujos moved-up to ninth place. Leones lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Brujos will have a break next round.
