Leader Santeros delivered the thirteenth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Atleticos (5-11) 93-73 in San German. The game without a history. Santeros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticos' 26. Santeros shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Naturalized American forward Jose Guitian (207-87, college: Lasell) stepped up and scored 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and international Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Santeros players scored in double figures. The former international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Isaac Sosa-Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Santeros maintains first place with 13-3 record. Loser Atleticos keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Santeros will meet at home Piratas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will play against Capitanes (#4) in Arecibo and hope to secure a win.
