Azad held off Naft Abadan to cut the deficit in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 36-25 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Azad made 32-of-35 free shots (91.4 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Naft Abadan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 6 assists.
