Semi-Finals Game 3: VEF Riga - Valmiera 85-70

VEF Riga gave no chance for visiting Valmiera sweeping the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by VEF Riga. Valmiera managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. VEF Riga looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) who scored 29 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Abdul Gaddy (193-92, college: Washington) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four VEF Riga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Israeli center Dor Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall) added 19 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
