The game in Guayama was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Piratas (10-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Brujos (8-11). Piratas defeated Brujos 92-79. The game was mostly controlled by Piratas. Brujos was better in third quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Brujos' players. The winners were led by the former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) who scored that evening 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) supported him with 27 points and 5 rebounds. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) did not help to save the game for Brujos. His fellow American import forward Chane Behanan (198-92, college: Louisville) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piratas maintains third position with 10-5 record having seven points less than leader Aguada. Brujos at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Piratas' next round opponent will be Indios (#10) in Mayaguez and are hoping to win another game. Brujos will play on the road against Vaqueros (#8) in Bayamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
