Finals Game 2: Zwolle - Groningen 51-96

Date: May 16, 2017
Groningen overwhelmed Zwolle on the road to take 2-0 lead in the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Zwolle managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zwolle to just 6 points in third quarter. Groningen had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Groningen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Zwolle's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84, agency: Court Side) chipped in 15 points. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. The former international center Nick Oudendag (210-87) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and American center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St., agency: Court Side) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
