Regular Season Round 20: Bayamon - San German 83-89

We should mention about the upset which took place in Bayamon, where 7th ranked Vaqueros (8-12) lost at home to tenth ranked Atleticos (7-12) 83-89 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-83. Atleticos made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Vaqueros only scored six points from the stripe. Atleticos had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) chipped in 21 points. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and Mexican Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Four Atleticos and five Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Atleticos moved-up to ninth place. Vaqueros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Atleticos will face league's second-placed Fajardo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
