Very important is a home loss of third ranked Piratas (10-6) against tenth ranked Indios (7-10) on Wednesday night. Host Piratas were defeated by Indios in a tough game in Quebradillas 72-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 23-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Kevin Young (203-90, college: Kansas, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks. Indios moved-up to ninth place. Piratas at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Indios will play against league's leader Santeros in Coamo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piratas will play against the league's second-placed Fajardo where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
