Finals Game 1: Ventspils - VEF Riga 66-76

VEF Riga rolled past Ventspils in Game 1 of the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by VEF Riga. Ventspils managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International forward Mareks Mejeris (208-91, agency: Players Group) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international point guard Ingus Jakovics (186-93, college: Liepaja-2) produced 11 points and 4 steals and Lithuanian forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
