UBT Cluj Napoca eked out a narrow home win over Steaua CSM in the opener. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Steaua CSM won third quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-84, college: Marquette) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) chipped in 22 points. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) produced 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence, agency: Inception Sports) added 14 points and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
