Semi-Finals Game 1: Tochigi Brex - SeaHorses 83-68

Tochigi Brex cruised past SeaHorses at the start of the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-68. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 36-21 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Aishin Sea Horses' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) answered with 26 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) added 11 points in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
