Regular Season Round 24: Isabela - San German 85-99

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Caciques (9-13) lost to ninth ranked Atleticos (9-14) in Humacao 85-99. It looked good early as Caciques took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Atleticos took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Atleticos players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia) who scored 30 points. The former international Paul Graham (196-85, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 23 points. Atleticos' coach Wilhelmus Caanen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St., agency: Paris Global Sports) who recorded 21 points and 4 assists and American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos moved-up to eighth place. Caciques lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. Atleticos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Leones (#5) in Juana Diaz and it may be quite challenging game.
