The game in Bayamon supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Brujos (10-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Vaqueros (9-15). Brujos smashed Vaqueros 72-51 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Brujos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Brujos outrebounded Vaqueros 42-24 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized American guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: Cent.Conn.St.) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Even 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Vaqueros. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brujos maintains sixth position with 10-12 record. Vaqueros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 15 games lost. Brujos will meet at home league's leader Santeros in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vaqueros will play against Caciques (#7) in Humacao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
