Regular Season Round 10: U Costa Rica - Escazu 42-78

The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Escazu (7-2) played at the court of 6th ranked U Costa Rica (3-6). Escazu smashed U Costa Rica 78-42 on Saturday. Escazu held U Costa Rica to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Escazu forced 19 U Costa Rica turnovers and outrebounded them 71-37 including a 56-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Dave Milliner (197-81) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Andres Flohr (195-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and the former international Jose Solano (189-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Escazu have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record behind leader ARBA. Loser U Costa Rica dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Escazu's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from San Jose ARBA.
