Quarter-Finals Round 3: Baskonia - Gran Canaria 73-71

Baskonia nipped visiting Gran Canaria to seal their semifinal appearance. Gran Canaria was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for Hungarian Adam Hanga (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 8 rebounds. German center Johannes Voigtmann (211-92) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Baskonia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Dominican forward Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and Finnish guard Sasu Salin (191-91) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
