Very expected game in Mayaguez where 10th ranked Indios (7-14) were defeated by third ranked Piratas (13-8) 92-83. The guests were already 17 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-18 Indios' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 92-83 at the end of the game. Piratas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) accounted for 18 points. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. International Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) came up with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Indios in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piratas maintains third place with 13-8 record having four points less than leader Aguada. Indios lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Piratas will play against Vaqueros (#8) in Bayamon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Indios will have a break next round.
