No shocking result in a game when Leones SD (4-1) beat Caneros LR (0-4) in La Romana 103-98 on Friday. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 35-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Leones SD looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American MJ Rhett (206-92, college: Mississippi) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Elias Soliman answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Ryan Scott (191-86, college: Johnson C. Smith) added 26 points in the effort for Caneros LR. Four Leones SD and five Caneros LR players scored in double figures. Leones SD will have a break next round.
