Regular Season Round 3: Metros STGO - Indios SFM 112-99

Indios SFM (3-1) recorded a loss in Santiago on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Metros STGO (3-2) 112-99. The game was mostly controlled by Metros STGO. Indios SFM managed to win fourth quarter 34-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Metros STGO had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Metros STGO especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Indios SFM's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Metros STGO made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. His fellow American import Robert Glenn (203-89, college: IUPUI) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Indios SFM in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros STGO will meet at home Reales LV (#7) in the next round. Indios SFM will have a break next round.
