Regular Season Round 28: Arecibo - Bayamon 82-84

The most exciting game of round 28 in the BSN took place in Arecibo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Capitanes (11-14) to seventh ranked Vaqueros (12-16) 84-82 in the game for the sixth place. Vaqueros made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Capitanes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-84, college: VCU, agency: Paris Global Sports) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Angel Alamo (206-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas, agency: BeoBasket) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vaqueros moved-up to sixth place. Capitanes lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Vaqueros are looking forward to face Indios (#10) in Mayaguez in the next round. Capitanes will have a break next round.
